TWO TRIPS TO ETHIOPIA?

Well this topic seems to be all the rage so I thought I would throw in my 2 cents from this side of the rainbow- the pot of gold side, where we already have our darlings safely home (and off to school I might add).

The journey of adoption, call it stressful, traumatic, whatever you will- not for the faint of heart. But whatever it throws at you, keep faith in the fact that it WILL end. If we were forced to travel for court, well, we may think twice about entering another adoption process. But if it came to us midstream, no doubt we would have to forge through, just one more step, one more hurdle. If that is what it comes to, you can do it. It really is worth the trip, and even worth 2 trips.

As for me, I have made 2 trips, voluntarily, since having the kids home. It is no punishment to go to ETH, right?

from our first trip in 2001

and our second trip, 2007

I agree Sandra. It is all in how you look at it. Two trips means more opportunity to spend time in your child's birth country and experience the culture. I just squeaked by and don't have to appear in court but part of me was disappointed....I love Ethiopia would have secretly loved an excuse to have to make a trip. And as for the money....well with international you always find it somewhere and make it work.
